The Darwaza room at Moksha Stays Kashi: a king bed beneath a carved wooden door frame draped in saffron cloth, on a warm terracotta wall

Moksha Stays Kashi

A gentle pause in one of the world’s oldest living cities.

Art-filled rooms a short walk from Assi Ghat: a calm base for the ghats, temples and lanes of Kashi.

Welcome

A place to pause near Assi Ghat

Moksha Stays Kashi sits in the south of the city, 200 m from Assi Ghat and 200 m from Durga Kund.

It is a place to slow down between discoveries: to set out early for the river, wander the lanes, follow the sound of temple bells, and return to rest at the end of the day.

Then come home to a calm, air-conditioned room and the handmade paintings of the artist Erah Light along the hallways.

Our Rooms

Every room tells a story of Kashi

Each of our eleven rooms is named for a thread of the city’s life, from its poets and weavers to its river and temples.

  • Darwaza

A doorway to the inner self, the essence of Moksha. An antique carved door frame, draped in saffron cloth, rises above the bed on a warm terracotta wall.

    From ₹3,300 a night · Up to 2 guests

  • Kabir

For Kabir, Kashi’s weaver-poet. Gold-and-white abstract panels catch the light on a caramel wall, and brass lanterns glow through red glass beside a king bed piled with maroon cushions.

    From ₹2,580 a night · Up to 2 guests

  • Kamal

The lotus, spacious and calm. A yellow three-flower panel blooms on a burnt-orange wall, with a royal-blue throw on the king bed and a blue mosaic lamp glowing at its side.

    From ₹2,740 a night · Up to 2 guests

  • Mangal

The auspicious one. A yellow mandala hangs on a burnt-orange wall above a king bed in a navy knitted throw, with an arched glass door at the far end of the room.

    From ₹2,820 a night · Up to 2 guests

  • Pravah

Flow, like the river. A blue wave artwork cradles a small brass pot on an ochre wall, above a queen bed dressed in an indigo fringed throw.

    From ₹2,615 a night · Up to 2 guests

  • Tana Bana

The warp and weft of Banarasi weaving. Framed handloom swatches gather on an ochre wall over a king bed and woven cushions, beside an arched window.

    From ₹2,850 a night · Up to 2 guests

  • Maati

Earth, the clay of Banaras. A hand-cut metal tree spreads across a textured terracotta wall, with plants in carved pots and terracotta mugs around a double bed.

    From ₹3,150 a night · Up to 2 guests

  • Kashi

The city itself, in earthy terracotta and Shiva-inspired art. Carved wooden motifs stand out on a burnt-orange wall, over a king bed with a flame-orange knitted throw and black-and-gold cushions.

    From ₹2,943 a night · Up to 2 guests

  • Ananda

The blissful one. A hand-painted Om, strung with a rudraksha mala, hangs on the terracotta wall above a queen bed in deep teal and indigo print.

    From ₹1,920 a night · Up to 2 guests

  • Antara

The inner space. A pierced brass lamp hangs low beside a queen bed with red and mustard cushions, beneath a carved wooden diamond on the terracotta wall.

    From ₹2,550 a night · Up to 2 guests

  • Dhwani

The resonance of sound. A framed embroidered textile panel hangs above a king bed laid with olive-green cushions and a red zigzag runner, with a woven pouf at its foot.

Experiences

Kashi, at your own pace

Few cities reward slow exploration like Kashi. Its culture lives in its food, its temples, its ghats and the everyday life of its neighbourhoods.

  1. The ghats and the river

Watch the city wake at the water’s edge, or take in the evening light along the ghats. Assi Ghat is 200 m away.

  2. Temples and sacred spaces

From Durga Kund and Sankat Mochan nearby to Kashi Vishwanath in the old city, Kashi’s temples are woven into everyday life.

  3. Food of the old city

Kachori and jalebi in the morning, chai in clay cups, lassi and seasonal sweets: Kashi is a city to taste slowly.

  4. Lanes and neighbourhoods

Wander the narrow galis, where small shrines, workshops and tea stalls sit side by side.

These are ideas for exploring Kashi independently. Please confirm any guided activities or arrangements directly with the property.
